Tandoori Chicken & Pilau Rice
A great meal for when you feel like the flavours of India
Chicken pieces are marinaded in a Tandoori spice paste - Greek yoghurt with ginger, cumin, chilli, mustard, coriander, cinnamon, paprika, garlic and onion - and then grilled till perfectly cooked and tender. You can tell it's been hand-cooked as the sauce and the chicken have 'caught' on the grill, giving that authentic slight 'charring' which intensifies the flavour of the chicken and the tandoori.
The tandoori spices that slowly creep up on you until they warm the back of your throat. The spices are full and rounded and mature (avoiding all the sharpness and rawness you get in some manufactured curry dishes).
The Pilau rice contains only the purest ingredients - Basmati rice, green peas, butter, onions, salt, turmeric, bay leaf and cardamom. (The butter tastes great in this rice, and the turmeric adds not only flavour, but the vibrant colour) As is traditional, this is served with a garnish of Greek yoghurt.
We love tandoori ourselves and we worked long and hard to get this just right. We hope you enjoy it too!
