Steamed Marmalade Pudding with Thick English Custard

Our Steamed Marmalade Pudding is the ultimate comfort food: soft, moist, chewy sponge is topped with thick custard, and marmalade.
And it's made with only real food: flour, eggs, butter, sugar, cream, vanilla and oranges.
All hand-made by our specialist dessert and bakery chef. Not only the sponge, but also the custard, and even the marmalade (with the oranges from his own farm).
Because of that there are no numbers, thickeners, emulsifiers or artificial flavours. Only 100% real food ingredients, just like your gran and great-gran would have used.
The pudding comes in a generous 350g size, which easily gives 2-4 servings. The serving shown in the photo above is 1/4 of the pudding.
It's best heated until warm and then eaten, rather than serving it hot. Add some double cream or ice cream on the side to achieve pudding heaven.
If you manage to leave any, it's also delicious straight from the fridge. (Just cut into slices or cubes. Yum!)
Main Meal - 350g - generous servings for 2-4 people

Heating Instructions:
The best ways to heat the Sticky Pudding are either in a steamer or in the microwave.
Note that this pudding is best eaten warm, not hot
FROM FROZEN
Microwave (Timings will depend upon the power of your individual microwave)
- Place the pudding in its container in the centre of the microwave - do not remove lid, leave the film intact
- Heat for 3-4 minutes
- Check temperature is to your liking, and return for another 1-2 minutes if you'd like it warmer
- Gently remove the pudding and serve on a plate, or in individual bowls
Steamer (or stove top double-steamer if you have one)
- Preheat so that steam is rising
- Place in steamer in container - do not remove lid, leave the film intact. Peel one or two corners away as you want any steam to escape
- Heat the meal for 15-20 minutes
- Check temperature is to your liking, and return for another 5 minutes if you'd like it warmer
- CAUTION: The container will be hot when you remove it from the steamer.
- Gently remove the pudding and serve on a plate, or in individual bowls
If reheating in the microwave after defrosting - depending on the portion size - the pudding can heat quickly, so take it slowly. A 1/4 portion can heat in 30 seconds.
