Malaysian Beef Rendang - Our Singaporean chef makes his own paste from ginger, galangal, cardamom, lemongrass, chilli, cinnamon, cloves, star anise, cardamom and cumin with desiccated coconut. (If you look closely you can even see the coconut in the sauce.) Because it's made from scratch you can taste the layers of individual spices. Aussie beef (chuck steak) is marinated and then slowly cooked in this rendang sauce till it's tender.
It's not an overpowering curry - there's just enough heat in the curry to warm the back of your throat.
We have this meal available in two sizes: A MEAL-TO-SHARE SIZE - for a quick, easy, tasty dinner at home just add steamed rice (either yours, or ours if you're in an extra hurry!) And a SINGLE SERVE size, already accompanied by fragrant coconut rice (cooked in coconut milk and Pandan leaf), and green beans.
If you have that little extra time, add your own boiled egg, cucumber, ikan bilis and chilli paste on the side to transform it into Nasi Lemak .
