Classic Apple Crumble

$11.95

Our Apple Crumble is made the traditional way.

The topping is made crumbly by mixing flour with real butter (not margarine) and then just a touch of almond meal and desiccated coconut is added. It's baked until the crumble topping goes brown, (and reheating it in the oven with make that topping go a little chewy.)

The apples underneath the crumble really are apples - not a mushy apple sauce. They have been gently cooked until they still have texture and a little bite, and still hold their shape (which you can see in the photo). They are not over sweetened so that they're a great complement to the topping.

Our Crumble is all real food. It's made with everything you'd use at home - there are no numbers, thickeners, emulsifiers or artificial flavours. Only 100% real food ingredients, just like your gran and great-gran would have used.

It comes in a generous 450g size, which easily gives 2-4 servings.

All made by our specialist dessert and bakery chef

Main Meal - 450g - generous servings for 2-4 people

Ingredients:

Our Crumble is all real food. It's made with:
Apples, flour, butter, brown sugar, almond meal, cornflour, desiccated coconut, sultanas, cloves, cinnamon

Heating Instructions:

FROM FROZEN:

Microwave (Timings will depend upon the power of your individual microwave)

  1. Place the crumble in its container in the centre of the microwave - do not remove lid, leave the film intact
  2. Heat for 3-4 minutes
  3. Check temperature is to your liking, and return for another 1-2 minutes if you'd like it warmer
  4. Gently remove the pudding and serve on a plate, or in individual bowls

If reheating in the microwave after defrosting - depending on the portion size - the crumble can heat quickly, so take it.

Steamer (or stove top double-steamer if you have one)

  1. Preheat so that steam is rising
  2. Place in steamer in container - do not remove lid, leave the film intact. Peel one or two corners away as you want any steam to escape
  3. Heat the meal for 15-20 minutes
  4. Check temperature is to your liking, and return for another 5 minutes if you'd like it warmer
  5. CAUTION: The container will be hot when you remove it from the steamer.
  6. Gently remove the pudding and serve on a plate, or in individual bowls
